Here is one of the twelve paintings that will be in the show at Gallery San Juan in May.
There will be a few boat paintings, landscape, figurative, night scene, and still life paintings.
The title has a play on two ideas. One being the compliment to the boat owners' personal fleet and the second being the color complements of red and green.
This painting has a lot of texture. The pallet knife work on the boat itself has many different colors and values of red to bring the strength of the red to life. The thick paint in the reflection has its own abstract quality that was the main interest that drew me to this subject in the first place.
It was a lot of fun to paint.
